Gertrude Tredwell and the Merchant's House Hauntings

2021/05/16 ObsoleteOddity

Merchant's House was purchased by the Tredwell patriarch in 1833, and  Gertrude  entered

the world in one of it's bedrooms in 1840.When she was a young lady and of  marriageable  age,

she met the love of her life - the dashing Louis Walton - unfortunately her  father  forbade

the union, leaving Gertrude utterly heartbroken. She remained a spinster the  rest of  her  life.

When her father died in 1865, she and her siblings decided to keep the  house  as a  time

capsule to their father's memory....and so it stayed until 1933, the year  of  her  death.

Merchant's House was saved from destruction by a relative, and is nowadays  open  to  the

public. Many visitors and staff have reported encounters with the ghosts of  the  Tredwell

family, who apparently still believe it's their home.  https://youtu.be/eU1b42NTicc

Extinct Animals That Turned Out To Be Alive 2020/02/04 Grunge

We humans have done a lot on Earth, although not every other species would  agree we've

done all good things. Lots of animals have gone extinct since we  bootstrapped  ourselves

into the  modern age, but some of those "extinct" animals have actually  been  rediscovered

years  later. https://youtu.be/cQpefozP52o
