仕事をしていて５０頭の乳牛で酪農をしている。３２５エーカーの農場で農業を営む４代目でトウモ

ロコシ、燕麦、アルファルファ、大豆を栽培し、それと乳牛を順に農場に放牧させている。２００６年

の１１月から公認の有機乳製品販売業者だけど、自分たちの仕事にはとても誇りを持っているし

できる限りの最高の品質の製品を作り出そうと努力している。有機農法とはどの様なものか皆に

ホンのちょっぴり教える事が出来ればと思うし、見てる内に遣り方が面白いと感じてくれたらと思

う。世間の既成概念に縛られずに見てくれ！

このオーガニック農家を営むポール氏はアクセントも特に感じられず聴き取り易い米語を話し

て呉れます。finish up は、～をし終える、遣り切る、の意味の米語表現ですが、英国用法では

finish off が寧ろ一般的です。

finish (sth) up

・ to eat or drink all of what you are eating or drinking:

　飲食しているものを食べ切る、呑み切る

＊米国では finish up は finish off と同様に、仕事を遣り切るの意味で頻用します。

Finish up your dinner and you can have dessert.

　食事を食べ切ればデザートが食べれるよ。

＊命令形＋and で、～すれば～だ、との定型表現です。
