Bossy

　横暴な、偉そうな、威張り散らす

She’s terribly bossy and nobody likes her much.

She does sometimes come across as a  bit  bossy  and up herself.

Plucky

　（弱いにも拘わらず）勇敢な　（限定用法のみ）

If someone, for example a sick child, is  described  as  plucky, it means that although they are weak, they face their difficulties with courage.

　例えば病気の子供などが「勇敢な」と形容される場合、その人物は弱っているにもかかわらず、困難に勇気を持って立ち向かうことを意味する。

= courageous, spirited, brave, daring 勇気ある、気概のある、勇敢な、大胆な

The plucky five-year-old was determined to  overcome her fear and hand-feed a donkey.

　5歳の少女は勇敢にも恐怖を克服してロバに手づから餌をやろうと決意した。

Perhaps they hope to present themselves  as  a  plucky band of rebels taking on a conspiratorial establishment.

　おそらく彼らは、陰謀的な体制に立ち向かう勇敢な反逆者の集団として自らをアピールしたいのだろう。

Patient

1. 忍耐強い、辛抱強い

staying calm and do not get annoyed, for example  when  something takes a long time, or when someone is not doing what you want them to do.

= forbearing, understanding, forgiving, mild 寛容な、理解のある、寛大な、穏やかな

Please be patient - your cheque will arrive.

patiently

She waited patiently for Frances to finish.

　彼女はフランシスが終えるのを辛抱強く待った。

2. （名詞）患者

= sick person, case, sufferer, invalid 病人、症例、罹患者、病人

The earlier the treatment is given, the better  the  patient's  chances.

　治療が早ければ早いほど、患者の予後は良くなる。

He specialized in treatment of cancer patients.

　彼はがん患者の治療を専門としていた。

But how much choice do patients really  have?

2. 苛立っている、焦っている

He is impatient as the first hour passes  and  then  another.

　最初の1時間が過ぎ、さらに別の1時間が過ぎるにつれ、彼はますます苛立っている。

She was very impatient with him.

　彼女は彼に非常に苛立っていた。

He is impatient with those who decry the  scheme.

3. 熱望する、待ち望む　= eager, longing, keen,  hot

He was impatient to get home.

not easily annoyed, worried, or upset, and  you  think  this  is a good quality

Alfonso was a handsome young man, tall  and  blond,  with  a pleasant, easygoing manner.

Careless

1.不注意な、注意欠陥の

not paying enough attention to what you are  doing,  and  so you make mistakes, or cause harm or damage.

　自分の行動に十分な注意を払わないため、間違いを犯したり、危害や損害を与えたりする状態を指す

= slapdash, irresponsible, sloppy [informal],  cavalier ずさんな、無責任な、だらしのない[口語]、無頓着な

I'm sorry. How careless of me. [+ of]

　すみません。なんて不注意なんだろう。

Some mothers were a bit careless with  money. [+ with]

　一部の母親は金銭管理が少しずさんだった。

Mr Clarke had pleaded guilty to causing  death  by  careless driving.

　クラーク氏は不注意運転による過失致死に対して有罪を認めた。

He was very careless in his work, so he really  deserved  to get the gate.

He had shown himself careless of personal  safety. [+ of]

She's careless about her hygiene.

That shows a fairly careless attitude to  clothes,  doesn't it?

relaxed or confident, and do not seem  to  require  much  effort or thought.

With a careless flip of his wrists, he sent  the  ball  quickly  on its way.
