https://dictionary.cambridge.org/grammar/british-grammar/reported-speech-direct-speechhttps://www.eapfoundation.com/writing/references/reporting/https://www.ncl.ac.uk/academic-skills-kit/writing/academic-writing/reporting-verbs/https://latrobe.libguides.com/writing/reporting-verbshttps://www.efjapan.co.jp/eigo-resources/english-grammar/reporting-verbs/https://www.twinkl.jp/blog/reporting-verbshttps://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2026.1799996/fullPsychol., 02 April 2026 Volume 17 - 2026 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fpsyg.2026.1799996Reporting verbs across genre sets and research paradigms: a corpus-based analysis of denotation and evaluation in applied linguistics research articlesLiming Deng & Xinyue Lihttps://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/facpub/6373/Reporting verb variation across disciplines: An academiccorpus studyGrant Eckstein, et al. ournal of Academic Language &Learning Vol. 16, No. 1, 2022, 59-75. 主語 + 動詞 + 前置詞 + 動名詞/名詞 <Subject +Reporting Verb + Preposition + Gerund/Noun>apologise forShe apologised for being late.彼女は遅れたことを謝った。= She apologised <she was late>.彼女は<私は遅刻しました>と謝った。boast aboutHe boasted about winning the debate so easily.彼は、その討論にあまりに簡単に勝ったことを自慢した。= He boasted <he won the debate so easily>.boast aboutShe boasted about her latest achievement.彼女は自分の最近の成果を自慢した。= She boasted <she lately made a good achievement>.decide onThey decided on taking the coastal road home.彼らは、海沿いの道を通って帰ることに決めた。= They decided <they will take the coastal road home>.decide onWe decided on a quieter restaurant.私たちは、もっと静かな店に決めた。= We decided <they will chose a quieter restaurant.insist onThey insisted on bringing their children to the meeting.彼らは会議に子供たちを連れてくることを主張した。= They insisted <they should bring their children to themeeting>.彼らは、<自分達が子供たちを会議に連れてくるべきだ>と主張した。agree withScuttford agrees with Bodmer's assertion thatenvironmental concerns have been overlooked.スカットフォードは、環境問題が軽視されてきたというボドマーの主張に同意している。= Scuttford agrees <Bodmer asserts that environmentalconcerns have been overlooked>.スカットフォードは <環境への懸念が見過ごされてきたとボドマーが主張している>ことに同意している。concur withSpalding concurs with Rogers on the need for greater use ofdata.スポルディングは、データの活用をさらに進める必要性について、ロジャースの見解に同意している。= Spalding concurs <Rogers thinks that greater use of datais needed>.スポルディングは、<ロジャースが「データの活用をさらに進める必要がある」と考えている>ことに同意している。disapprove ofHe disapproves of the current strategy for tacklingunemployment.彼は、失業対策に関する現在の戦略に反対している。= He disapproves <the current strategy for tacklingunemployment is inappriate>.彼は、<現在の失業対策の戦略は不適切である>と批判している。 |
